Ina almost spat out the food. It was more than a bit sweet. She forced herself to swallow the food without making it obvious that she didn't like it. There was a feeling that the sweet aroma gave that she didn't like. It made her head swim and made her want to vomit. It reminded her of a certain drug that, indirectly led her to this island. She felt sick as she remembered the stench of that man. He was high on some unknown drug that made him smell all sickly sweet. The muffin had that same effect on her. Objectively, the smell of a user of that drug was almost bitter sweet with a tinge of a vaguely metallic smell. To Ina, everything that's relatively sweet reminded her of that. And she hated every moment of it. Ina didn't exactly hate sweet foods but the aroma of it was disconcerting all the same.
She dropped the muffin in her plate and reached out for a cup of coffee. It soothed her nostrils a bit as she profusely sniffed her cup's strong aroma.

C.C was wearing her black, buttoned up shirt. Something she didn't mind, it was a much better colour than the other years. Though, so was the purple shirts. The skirt she had on was appropriate. It covered just the right amount. Getting cut off just above the knees. Her black heel boots ever present on her feet, as she entered the mess hall. The one place she was guaranteed to find people. Even if she would rather be alone this morning. Combing her fingers through her hair, C.C casually walked towards the one person who, she actually liked at this place. Her honey, coloured eyes sprinkled with amusement, as a warm smile adored her lips.
'Anyone would think you're one of us...' C.C wanted to say, as she reached Valeriana. Glancing at the food, as if it would simply cease to exist under her gaze. Wondering why Valeriana looked as if it tasted rotten. From what the others said, the food wasn't so bad. Nice, to put it simply. Better than expected. C.C had to go with what they said. She didn't eat food. Not that she couldn't. It was just that, she preferred blood better. Taking a seat next to her, C.C tied her green hair into a high pony tail. Making her eye colour stand out more. Peering out at all the others, who braved the chill this early. Just to eat something decent. There wasn't much, C.C found. Caring little about it. She, herself usually wandered about at this time. Seeking to cause just a little trouble. Something to make the horrible silence disappear.
.......
Nothing. C.C thought, she heard nothing. No one was yelling, no one was fighting. Only eating, or whispering. The peace was threatening to make her scream. Of, course she wouldn't, she wasn't that deprived of noise to make herself appear crazy. Turning her eyes on Valeriana, C.C watched her inhale the coffee's aroma. As if it was something addictive, something much like blood was to her. Yet nothing like that at all.
C.C sighed, exhaling out. Casting her gaze elsewhere. Leaning forward onto her hands. Remaining silent, choosing to remain silent. Once in a while, C.C could even feel herself liking it too. The silence.

Ina glanced at C.C. and waited for her to take a seat. She was relatively near that they didn't need to raised their voices for a conversation but a slight whisper would remain unheard.
"Hey, CC. Good morning. How are you?", she said politely to CC. She liked the girl. She was nice...and she gave her a job but there was still something off about her. Creepy, so to say. She was statuesque and deeply beautiful that if Ina was insecure about herself, she'd probably hate the girl. And she gave off this strange aura of authority and just treatment to the people that she meets...A sensible and practical girl. Ina liked those qualities in a person. Better yet, she wanted those qualities in herself as well.

"Joyful." C.C answered, crossing her legs in her seated position. Casting her gaze at Valeriana. "How are you adjusting here?" C.C asked curiously. A smile emerging onto her lips, while she raised an eyebrow. She wondered if Valeriana found it hard, like so many. Though, from what she knew, Valeriana was a strong type of person. She wasn't easily manipulated, and she wasn't one to fall under pressure. Valeriana, definitely wasn't one to get scared off easily. C.C briefly wondered if the girl would be taking weaponry training. It would be a sight, to see the girl fight. If she could. C.C reckoned she looked as if she could. If only a little.
Trying to take her mind off fighting, C.C couldn't wait for the cage tournaments to begin. She already had money stored up to place bets. She wondered if she should enter... Shaking her head slowly, C.C focused her vision on Valeriana. She really needed to forget about fighting, during school that was. At work, she could daydream all she liked.
Blinking, C.C shifted her weight. Noticing how she seemed to act more like a lifeless statue, than a living person. She didn't want to scare anyone, even if that would be fun.

She looked down at her coffee cup and sipped a little bit of the warm brown liquid before proceeding to answer CC's question. She inhaled and looked up at CC's intense eyes.
"Not bad, actually.", she lied smoothly. It was anything but smooth. She just made it seem like things were perfect. It was ironic in a way. She lived outside of a home's walls, she felt like she belonged in that world...Now that she's living inside walls, she felt like an outsider. It was rather strange but challenging. That's why she hasn't left yet. This was hard for her, and it was a challenge.
"I've met a few people but mostly I've been familiarizing myself with the terrains.", she chuckled as she set the coffee cup down. This was true now. It was mostly to avoid having to stay in a single place. To work off her usual restlessness. "Have you been here long?", she asked C.C.

C.C raised an eyebrow, Not bad? That was strange, it's usually the opposite. It wasn't the best place, and it certainly wasn't easy to adapt to. Perhaps making it sound as it were, made it better? C.C didn't know, and it made humans just that much more complicated. Nodding in understanding at Valeriana, C.C leaned her arms on the table.
"I've been here since the 4th year, although I was around much longer before that." C.C replied. Finding it hard to even being to explain that she was here longer than she could believe. But damn, she had studied hard to get where she was. Even if she had no idea of what she wanted or where she wanted to go. Curling up her fingers, C.C smiled. Class would start soon and then she'll see just what power(if she developed any) Valeriana had.
