Ina knocked on the Latin Master's office. She didn't really think that it would take a lot of time trying to locate it with out help. The castle was vast. Even bigger than most houses that she'd managed to break into before all of this. She sighed as she stood back from the door. She wanted to thank Mr. Gray for the potion and, generally, the concern. She didn't expect that people could actually be helpful to strangers. She knew she wouldn't be that helpful herself.

Gillian had been reading when he heard the knock at his office door. He had just finished putting his things away. The walls were now lined with shelves that were ladden with both strange and wonderful objects, and dozens of novels. He hadn't been in the school for long, and he had taken the opportunity to explore the place while the students were still arriving. Now though, he was just relaxing.
He marked his page and put the book down. He walked to the door, but paused for a moment before opening it. As he swung the door open, he smiled. 'Why hello Ina, It is wonderful to see you' He stepped back, allowing her to enter the office if she wished so.

Ina gave him a minute smile as he welcomed her in his office. He such a happy soul. He felt alien to her, yet she felt completely comfortable. It was probably because he was the man who saved her life. She walked over to his desk and took in the room with one glance. She saw eccentric things, gadgets and her lips formed a thin smile as she saw books among the objects in the shelves. She loved books too.
"Likewise, Mr. Gray,", she said shyly. "Although, I have to admit,", she pursed her lips awkwardly, "This is much better than the last time.", she said and gave him a lopsided smile as she knotted her fingers. She felt awkward around the castle. Like, there was something else about this place that she felt. Something strange and unnatural.

Gillian chuckled lightly, his usual brightness recovered. 'Yes, certainly. I'm glad to see you are better' He smiled, watching her brief surveyance of the room. He strode casually across the room, resuming his seat in the armchair he had occupied before Ina's arrival at his door. Silently he motioned for her to take a seat on the couch opposite him.
'How are you finding it here?'

Ina sat on the chair across from the man. She felt smile creep up her face. He was a relatively happy person. She liked being around happy people. It was nice change form what she gets int he streets. Non-sense ramblings of crazy old fools.
"This place is...well, suffice to say, it's huge. I nearly got lost trying to find your office.", she shook her head at her silliness.
"Mr. Gray, I just...I wanted to thank you...for what you did in the docks. I basically owe you my life.", she said with sincerity in her eyes. "I can't even possibly think of a way to repay you...or...to show you how much I appreciate your efforts.", she shrugged ans bit her lip.

Gillian's bright eyes flashed with happiness and amusement. 'Yes, it is quite large' he nodded, smiling 'I don't know my way around properly yet' He admitted.
'Ah. Yes, well I suppose I was just doing my job' He said quietly, modestly. 'Don't worry about it....unless' Gillian paused, slight mischeif in his eyes. 'Are you planning on staying here? For the school term?'

Ina thought for a while. She'd been thinking about leaving but...she wasn't quite ready to be in the streets again. She's been wanting to talk to the Headmaster about it. She needed a place to stay and she was willing to work for it, if the headmaster allowed her to. Frankly, however strange the place was, she felt it's pull. She didn't exactly want to leave.
"Uhm...yeah, about that.", she said, looking down at the Latin Master's desk. "I'm not really sure. I mean, honestly I don't want to leave and I do want a proper education but...", she winced as she was at a lack of words again. "...I don't really know how I'm going to manage to...pay for it.", she shrugged. "I wanted to talk to the Headmaster about it. Who knows, maybe I could work for it.", she shrugged again. If he didn't agree, then maybe she wasn't really meant to be here.

'Oh I'm sure it won't be a problem. You're not the first wanderer to come here without means to pay the fees.' Gillian looked at her knowingly, leaning back a little in his seat. 'Well, if you do stay, all I can ask is that you take my class. That, i'm sure, will make up whatever debt you think you owe me.'

"I actually do. It's...uhm...it's not for what you did...no offense...mostly out of pure curiosity.", she said. Nonetheless, she never really thought that she'd ever be able to pay that debt. It was her life after all and nobody has ever showed her that type of kindness.

'Brilliant then!' Gillian exclaimed, clapping his hands together. 'I assure you, you will enjoy it. Latin is a fascinating language.' He smiled brightly
He cast his eyes around the room, then looked back to Ina. 'Have you studied the language previously?'

Ina couldn't help but smile at the man's enthusiasm. He was the type of person that you'd think of when you're looking for innocent and intelligent fun. She shook her head.
"Not really. It's kinda hard to teach yourself a new language. I only one thing to say that I learned but...I'd rather not say....very impolite.", she bit her lips and scowled.

'Aha' he nodded seriously 'I believe I understand dear.' His blue-grey eyes flashed. 'May I ask what other subjects you have chosen?'

Ina bit her lip as she recalled those subjects that she'd signed up for. She remembered that there were three and Latin was basically the only one that could be considered as academic.
"I think I did signed up for Music and Arts.", she said. "It's...something that I never really got the pleasure of experiencing.", she told Master Gray. It was true, of course, that music and arts were things that she was deprived of, aside from her basic needs. "With the way I lived before...It wasn't entirely possible for me to learn those things.", she said. Art was impossible for her since she didn't have the supplies or money to buy the supplies. Music in terms of playing instruments was not entirely possible for her since...where ever the hell was she going to find a freaking instrument.

'A creative mind then?' A quick flash of something in his eyes, another smile. 'Wonderful, wonderful.' He nodded 'The world needs more creative minds. Goodness knows this place needs it'
Gillian layed his hands in his lap and looked at Ina seriously for a moment. 'If you don't mind me asking, how was your life before you arrived here?'

She scowled and focused on the book on the table. All of a sudden, she couldn't meet him in the eye. A thousand things went through her mind as she scowled at the innocent book. Nonetheless, there was no point in lying. They'd find out anyways.
"Life was...hard, pretty much.", she said as she looked at him awkwardly. "I...", she paused and took a deep breath. He was the first man she'd trusted so easily...after all, he saved her life. She'd need to tell other people about her life in time. "I lived in the streets.", she said, not knowing if the man would understand her completely.

Gillian regarded her with a slight frown as she avoided his eyes. 'I understand' He said quietly, knowing that in a way he did. His past before this place was strange and disjointed.... but not easy. Then again, it never was. Not for anybody.

She scoffed, "What? You lived in the streets? You have no idea.", she said sharply and immediately regretted it. It was no way to treat somebody who helped her, no way to treat anybody in fact.
A moment ago, she was feeling misunderstood and he comes a stranger saying that he understands. Never. Taking a heavy sigh. She shook her head and cradled her forehead in her hand. Ashamed of what she did and ashamed of herself.

Gillian closed his eyes and bowed his head slightly. He knew what it felt like to be misunderstood.
'I think there is someone you need to talk to Ina' Gillian said quietly, eyes still closed. A passing meeting, words swapped breifly. Someone that would help. Gillian barely knew him, but he would understand Ina.

She sighed silently, still holding her forehead and looking down. She was crying now and she was ashamed of that. She should stop that. It was weak...petty...She couldn't look up to look the man in the eye. He was right...again. She needed to talk to somebody...but she didn't trust anybody...Well...apart from him...She needed to.
"I--The--", she sobbed freely now. Her shoulders shook as she struggled to make her words audible and comprehensible. It's been so long since she's cried like this...just cried. It was like taking a weight off of her chest. She sighed again.
"I ran away from home when I was young. I've been homeless ever since....", she paused to sniff. "...and I tried to kill myself."

In a moment he was sat beside her, his hand on her back.
He nodded at her words, not entirely sure what to say. 'I understand more than you will know, but for now I think you should talk to someone. I don't know his name, I've met him only briefly, though I know he will be much help to you.' Gillian closed his eyes sadly.
'If you wish to do so, that is?'
