The school had certainly changed in the last few years. It was hard to imagine that, in the short while since she'd graduated, so many things had changed. The school uniforms were different, as in nonexistent. The only way to see what class a student was in was by the color of their shirt now. And not even the shirt was standard so as long as the color was right. But the rough housing in the hallways had diminished and it seemed the students were almost eager to go to class. Perhaps it was the presence of the new headmaster, the new human headmaster. It was an odd thing. He was the first human, even if he was a magus.
Soft footfalls from her shoes as Evelynn walked through the halls. She knew her way to the library, having found herself in their quite often during her years at the academy. Always up late at night working to finish the papers she'd known about for weeks at a time. A small chuckle escaped her and the corners of her lips turned up in a small smile. At the end of her final year at the academy, she'd sworn never to return to the library, to the school in general. And here she was, returning to that very place, just to see what the library looked like now before she went to find the headmaster. She was interested in becoming the school's librarian now.

Christian had never taken any interest in school. He could honestly care less if he even managed to graduate or not. The goals that he had set for his life didn't require a high school diploma. The only reason he would even bother to come to the school library was for the wonderful little girl that he had left at home with the sitter. She loved to hear Daddy read to her. He already had a good sized stack of childrens books in his arms, the ones he had deemed not good enough had been tossed behind him without a care.

Another small chuckle came from her when Evelynn entered the library. It was as deserted as she normally found it when she came. There were one or two tables of students here and there, but in all there didn't seem to be more than twenty students. The older girl moved through the tables set up in the middle for studiers towards one of the book shelves to see how things were arranged.
Evelynn moved down the shelves, noting the different titles and authors, and how the room was organized by genre. At the last one she chuckled. They had children's books mixed in with all the others, no mind that the students who went to this school were far above that level. No, she knew that sometimes you'd see parents coming in to check out books for their sons or daughters. But what was odd was the large stack a young man held in his arms, the rest tossed carelessly on to the floor.
Evelynn folded her hands in her lap as she approached the boy.

Christian hadn't heard the approach of the other woman, he was too busy reading the back of a book about a princess and some magical dragon. Brooklyn would love that. He tossed the next book behind him, just missing the woman by less than an inch as it whipped past. "This should be enough shouldn't it?" He mumbled to himself, weighing the contents in his arms.

Evelynn stepped quickly to the side as another book came to join the pile. It landed, open and face down. From where she was standing she could see a few of the pages had now bent. By now the girl had reached the boy and stood, watching him read. "If you are going to take books off the shelf you'll do to respect them. I expect those books to be picked up and replaced neatly on their proper shelves if you do not want them."

"Sure..I'll get right on them." Christian mumbled with a hint of sarcasm to his tone. He hadn't even bothered to look up as he was approached. He had no intentions on picking up the mess that he had caused but if it would get this chick off of his back quickly then he would practically say anything. He adjusted the stack in his arms and side stepping the other woman, he made his way out of the aisle.

Evelynn followed as the boy stepped around her. She knew the tricks. She'd been to this school, used many of those same tricks herself. Children would say anything to get out of doing something they didn't want to. Moving so she was standing in front of the boy again, she refused to let him farther from his cast-off pile. With a finger she lifted his chin so he was forced to look at her. "I didn't mean later," she told him, her voice, usually soft and gentle, was stern now. "I meant now."

She lifted his chin with a single finger and Christian finally laid eyes upon the annoying woman. This must be the librarian. She was good looking in her own way and immediately all of the normal fantasies about getting with the school librarian rushed to the surface. He set the books he had collected aside on a nearby empty shelf and leaned his shoulder against it, turning on his old charm as a smirk appeared on his young face. "And what would you do if I didn't?" He asked.

Evelynn's lips pressed together as the boy set down his books and smirked at her. She didn't find it cute or funny. Rather the opposite, in fact, she found it extremely annoying. She certainly remembered the boys back in her day acting this way, and she found herself grateful not to have to deal with most of the men from her class anymore. "I'm sure the headmaster could find something useful for you to do," she answered his question, her arms folding across her chest.

Christian was hardly scared of some little threat on snitching to the headmaster. The most he could get was a detention or a couple of days working on improving the school library. He rolled his eyes and reached out to run a finger along the line of her jaw. "What I want to know is what I can do for you ma'am..and I mean nothing to do with books.." He replied.

Evelynn's normally calm, relaxed attitude broke in that second. She stepped away from his outstretched hand, her body tense and at the ready for him. "Know this, boy," she told him, her voice colder than it needed to be. "I do not work here yet. The school rules on what staff can do to students does not yet apply to me. Don't test me or I will show you what I am capable of."
