Magus
Magus are an ancient and lost race. Once they were recognised, accepted, worshiped, but now their race has almost died out. Magus are very similar to humans, the only difference between the two is their minds.
Though a Magus may not recognize the power of their mind, as the special abilities it holds lay dormant until a trainer of the ancient arts is found. This allows the Magus to blend into normal society, to seem human.
Some children of the race however, are driven mad. From when they are young the Magus feel their 'difference' at the back of their mind. Some try to ignore it, others accept it and live with it, never understanding it, some a driven mad on their search for the truth. But others.....Others somehow end up on the small island of Obscurum Sceptrum. The nagging at the back of their mind grows stronger, until it brings them to the Forest Mages.
Only after training with the Forest Mages can a Magus utilise their powers. It is the decision of the Forest Mage who is training a particular Magus to decide when he/she is ready.
A Magus will only ever have one ability, though some Magus have a choice in which ability they train to fruition, having potential for two or three abilities.
The abilities of the Magus include:
-telepathy
-telekinesis
-future-sight
-the ability to influence others decisions or judgement.
IF YOUR CHARACTER IS A MAGUS:
You must choose only one ability.
You must follow the above relating to the race.
You must be trained by a forest mage.
You may only start using your ability when your trainer says you are ready
You must follow the rules for your ability, which are as follows:
Telekinesis: Telekinesis is the ability to move objects with your mind. Moving an object with your mind is almost as exhuasting as if you moved it by hand. It requires almost the same amount of energy. For example, making a pen levitate would use very little energy at all, however trying to move a mountain would kill you. You cannot move something you would not be able to usually. It WILL result in death
Telepathy: Telepathy is the ability to read someones thoughts. No character can stop you from reading their thoughts except another telepath. BUT you cannot make some one think something. You must have already agreed with the other character what the thought you hear will be. You can't control what they think.
Future-Sight: Future-sight is the ability to see future events. You can see your own future and that of others, but you cannot make up another characters future unless they specifically ask you to. You can see the future, but you CAN'T CONTROL IT.
The ability to influence decisions and judgement: The power to influence is only mild. It won't MAKE the other character do what you want, though it is very likely they will, at least to an extent.
Please follow these rules, they are only there to keep it fair.
