Lanors words made Danny stop entirely, so much he wanted to know what was causing the odd disturbance he felt in the air. It wasn't so much of a feeling, or a smell, or anything that he could relate to one of his senses. It was just there. This thing that wasn't quite right.
He strained his ears to hear what Lanor was hearing, his curiousity making him desperate. Though as much as he tried, even his finely tuned hearing could not pick up whatever Lanor was hearing. He turned his head to look at Lanor in wonder.

The noise wouldn't have even bothered Lanor. It seemed too far, to really feel any kind of threat. That was until he heard a massively, huge intake of breath. Far too much for either Frank or himself. Then as if something else was possessing him, Lanor pulled Frank from in front of him to closely behind him. The dirt floor beneath them vibrated violetly, as Lanor narrowed his electric blue eyes. Seeking to view whatever was emerging from the depths of this cave.
Whatever it was, Lanor hoped it wasn't angry with them. For he was sure they were the reason it was heading their way. Lanor just hoped Frank would make it back okay, his only concern was him.

Danny couldn't help the small laugh that slipped past his lips when Lanor dragged him behind him, becoming protective. He knew how to protect himself quite well, and even with the violently shaking floor, still held more wonder than fear. Such, the idea of being protected was ludicrous. Despite this, he allowed himself to be dragged behind Lanor.
Because, although he was of a background that came with training in combat, he could at least pretend to be a normal person every once in a while. Having ninja-like skills and warrior-esque courage was nice, but it really didn't do anything for his back-story.
Tainting his voice with just the right amount of worry he said, "What... what the hell is that?"

"It's some sort of beast..." Yeah, smart. Lanor thought that to be quite clear. Although he knew from his readings what this beast was. A Tiamat. It's body much like a dragons, with 5 different coloured heads. The most Lanor knew about them was that he'd rather stay clear of them. This one especially seemed to be angered. All sets of five eyes glaring dangerously.
"Tiamat.." Lanor answered. Already inching backwards, Pushing Frank along with him. "We need to leave." Lanor whispered. Unsure whether he should grab Frank and run. Or walk slowly, in case the beast decided to 'play' with them. He really didn't want to battle the beast, when they had been the ones to disturb it.

A Tiamat? Now that was something he hadn't come across before. Not by name nor by substance. "What's a Tiamat?" Danny's voice quivered a little. Perfect. If he had no other skills in his life, at least he could pretend to be afraid. It had to be of some sort of use. Surely.
He took a few stumbling steps backward. In honesty, he was still overwhelmed by curiousity, but he had enough sense to know when curiousity had the potential to be deadly. And maybe... just maybe this was one of those times.
Maybe.

"It's a dangerous beast, one of the reason's why we aren't allowed 'ere." Lanor answered none to slowly. His stance defensive, ready to leap out of the beast's way, if it attacked. He would grab Frank as well of course. He just didn't think it was the time for Frank to start playing 20 questions. The other thing that didn't quite fit right was his fear.
Frank's voice sounded like he was afraid, yet Lanor could not smell any fear off of him. Odd, yet perhaps Frank was frozen. And didn't know what to do? Lanor didn't think of this for long. The beast's heads reminding him, just why they needed to get out. They seemed to snap out in timed intervals. The head that was a fiery red seemed to know what Lanor wanted to do. It's teeth bared out in a pre-stance attack.
Pushing Frank back with his hands, Lanor stayed where he was. Intending to push Frank away from the danger. While he remained still, so the Tiamat's rage didn't rise any more than it was already.

Danny's eyes grew wide, finally set upon the beast in question. It was amazingly large, so much so that it shook the cave floor with each heavy step it took.
"Wow" Danny muttered the word beneath his breath, awestruck by the way the heads moved in synchronised coordination. As he watched, one set of eyes leveled and met with his. They were a glittering blue black, and shone like jewels in its blue-scaled visage. An ugly, scarred horn jutted from the middle of its head, above an intimidating brow.
A growl rippled forth from deep in its throat. Even the threatening disposition of the angered beast that loomed ahead of them was not enough to instill fear into Danny's heart. He just stared in amazement.
Yet something in him stirred and gave him the sense of mind to tug on Lanor's arm and drag him backwards a step. It wouldn't be wise to stay here.

Lanor was visibly calm. His face a passive calculation, he knew what he needed to do to get Frank out of here, safely. A distraction was needed. Him being that distraction.
Getting pulled by Frank's hands, Lanor flickered his electric blue eyes toward him. A smile of excitement making itself known on his red tinged lips.
"Do you trust me, sucrée une?" Lanor asked, his eyes finding Frank's forest green. Drawing him in. Wanting him to see just why he wasn't in a panic anymore.

Danny's eyes flicked the length of Lanor's body in a quick motion. Do I trust him? Perhaps...
Yes Yes. It was an unnescessary question. Danny trusted him, for all little he knew him. Not an unquestioning trust, no. But a trust enough for this.
"I trust you". His voice was laced with trademark curiosity.

Those words were all he needed. In quick succession, Lanor had taken hold of Frank and as fast as he could made himself a shield. While having Frank meters away.
"Run, I will catch up with you." Lanor smiled enthusiastically. His blue eyes crying out for Frank to leave. Noticing the monsters eyes following his movement with precaution.
"See if you can out run a vampire." Lanor teased.

Danny sighed quietly. "But i'll miss out on all the fun", he said under his breath. Forgetting, perhaps, that Lanor could hear him. He pouted childishly, but turned his head, ensuring that Lanor would not catch the expression.
Without a further word, he darted out of the cave. He played his part, did as Lanor said. It would be no good for him to stand his ground against the beast in any case, even if he had been alone. As he broke into the cool, bright air of daylight, he paused for a moment. He had slipped a few times on unseen loose rocks in his rush out of the cave, but never lost his footing. The hard part would be returning through the brambles and scrub he had to push through on his way here. He intended to meet Lanor back on the pathway that they were never supposed to leave.
He surveyed the line of the forest, outside of the clearing that encircled the caves mouth. He was sure that to run through this would leave him with an even prettier lacework of scratches than those he had obtained meerly walking through it the first time. Oh well.
He was right. By the time he reached the pathway his arms were a mess of scars, and a few even marred his face. It was worth it though. This all sort of felt like a game to him. He sat on the loose dirt and leaf-litter of the path, legs crossed, and waited for Lanor.

Lanor smiled, waiting for Frank's footsteps to become nothing but small distance noises, blending with the others. Turning back, blue eye's holding the gaze of numerous ones. All different hues, all projecting different emotions, all wanting something from him, which in the end would be his victory.
Tiamat's usually fought, the heads all disagreeing on the most simplest of things. Yet, they were smart, as they usually just ripped too shreds anything which moved around them. Something, Lanor wasn't doing, he remained perfectly still. Keeping distance. He wasn't afraid. With it, he was gaining to upper hand. Now that Frank was safe, he could go. Swiftly, he did just that. Although, before he could, a claw caught hold of his chest. Gripping hold as it ripped down. Sending Lanor to his knees, then flying toward the cave's wall. The debris falling as he did. Blood leaving his lips, Lanor stood steady. Pain flicked through his features. Holding his injured chest, as if gushed out with blood.
He didn't stay. Quickly leaving with the growl of displeasure behind him. Lanor was sure the Tiamat had enough excitement.
Although, discovering Frank's split blood wasn't Lanor's idea of fun. The scent leading him right to him, without much difficulties. His movement was slow, as he approached Frank. An eyebrow raised, looking him over for any fatal injuries.
"Can't keep your blood inside of you, can you?" Lanor mused, an amused smirk following his words. As he held out a hand for Frank to take. Forgetting his own injuries as he did so.

Danny jumped up quickly, disregarding Lanors out-stretched hand. His mouth was agape, his eyes filled with worry and fear. "Mi cara, neither can you." His voice was no more than a horrified whisper. Lanor seemed to be unfazed by his injuries, but there was so much blood. Danny's heart was racing. What could he do? He knew that Lanor's body would repair itself quicker than his own could recover from such an injury but it did not stop him from worrying. I should have stayed. The guilt rose in the pit of his stomach, making him feel queasy with the sight before him.
"Sede...You should sit down" He stood before Lanor, unsure whether to come closer to him, or back away. "You're hurt?" It was a question rather than a statement. Lanor did not seem hurt, for all but the exposed open wound that was making Danny worry so.

Lanor's eyebrow raised more on it's own volition. Not use to the worry that was now spreading from Frank, like a blanket, he was suddenly unsure about his proximity as Frank stood, eye's filled with concern. He had to look down, blue eyes watching as skin stitched back up. Not a mark left, cept the blood that lingered and the torn shirt he would have to throw out. Lanor was absolutely great.
"It's yourself you should be worried about, human." Lanor looked up, his eyes brighter as he stepped forward, smiling calmly. Saying human like it was a beautiful thing, but at the same time, as if it were delicately breakable. For human's were.
"This place is dangerous." He didn't know what he thought he had been doing, walking into the cave, he knew human's weren't like vampires, they bled and sometimes didn't stop. Lanor couldn't understand some human's need to seek adventure that could potentially kill them, but he loved how they could face it, they were brave.
Frank was brave. And Lanor was sure he would find out a lot of other things about him, he wasn't about to disappear. Not now.
"Let's go, you need medical aid."

Danny watched as the wound healed itself, still suffering from the shock of seeing Lanor torn open in such a vicious way. He blinked slowly at the ghost-wound, unable to free himself from worry even though there was no cause for it now.
He frowned, then poked his tongue out at Lanor. The spontaneous childish gesture made it impossible keep that frown. "I can take care of myself." Danny said stubbornly, "I'm not the one who came back with a hole torn into me." He winced at the bloodstain. Danny was sure he could never get used to the sight of potentially deadly wounds healing themselves in an instant.
"This place is fun" Danny blurted out before he could stop himself. He was supposed to be normal, frightened by large, furious beasts. He wasn't meant to want to chase them. He bit his lip. "I'm fine, it's only a few scratches. It's not as bad as it looks, especially in comparison to the way you looked when you came walking out of that forest." He paused, thoughts visible behind the flicker of his bright eyes. "I'm not made of porcelain." He was stronger than he looked. Much stronger. Though he didn't want Lanor to know just quite how much, he didn't want the lamia to worry about him as if he were made of glass.

His childish display made Lanor inch closer. He was amused at how much Frank could change, he seemed to be one thing, then the next, another. Always morphing into something else, it made Lanor's picture of him, messy, unclear. It made Lanor all the more intrigued by him.
It was fascinating to behold.
"You make me want to care for you. Being a human, you sure aren't like one at all." He had observed. "I want to keep you." Lanor smirked, his dimple showing like a light. Eying Franks lip as he saw teeth bite into them. A display most people did when nervous. He briefly wondered why Frank would be, if he even was?
"It's good you aren't made of porcelain, I wouldn't want to break you." Lanor teased. Already beside Frank, facing him. Wondering why something like danger would be fun for this human in particular.

Danny's eyes glittered, suddenly amused, suddenly playful. "Perhaps i'm not really human" He giggled childishly with a wink.
'I want to keep you' The words echoed in his mind. He chewed on his lip, worrying the flesh. Lanor could keep him. He was nice. Danny liked Lanor.
A bright, striking grin tore across his features. "I don't think you could break me quite as easily as you think." Perhaps there was a ghost of a challenge in his tone. He rocked on the balls of his feet, coming close to Lanor's face for a moment, then turning away with a smile.
"Is there anywhere else we can explore?" Danny grabbed at Lanor's hand, as if to pull him along the path to something else exciting.

Lanor hesitated at Frank's words. Then quickly caught on and winked back at him. A cheerful smile, perhaps if Frank wasn't human, it would explain a lot of the things that had occurred, but there was no fun in that.
"I don't think you could break me quite as easily as you think."
Oh? Lanor heard a hint of a challenge in his tone. That and Frank's giggle burst through his mind like the smell of freshly made cookies would capture the mind of the young. In that moment, Lanor gently held his fingers against Frank's cheek, so slowly, then a cheeky smile as Frank turned away.
Such playfulness was a sign that, whether or not Frank knew it, he was playing the game.
"I could think of a few places we could explore." Lanor delightfully added. A smirk of great mischief danced along his lips, as his bright eyes scanned Frank.

Danny turned and studied Lanor thoughtfully, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Show me?" There was perhaps a little too much eagerness in his voice, a line of anticipation. "I trust you won't take me anywhere with monsters."A childish emphasis. "I think we've seen enough already..."
His eyes flicked downward, almost too quickly to detect, to where his and Lanor's hands met. With something bold and brave, and yet terribly unsure of itself, Danny laced his fingers in Lanor's and tried to distract himself from the very action. "But it better be somewhere fun."
