Danny walked the empty corridoors, exploring the large and ancient castle. His curiosity had gotten the better of him, unable to sleep through his first night at the academy.
During the short time that he had spent here, he had found out that most of the island was named in Latin. This intrested him, as he had learnt a little Latin as part of his training.
Distracted, he paid little attention to the darkness that had enveloped him. So pure and thick the shadow, that it was as if walking with your eyes closed. He relied only on his acute sense of hearing to guide him through the empty halls.
Suddenly, mid-step, he collided with something large and hard in the middle of the corridoor. He toppled over with the unexpected contact, sprawled, confused on the groud. He was sure he hadn't heard a thing.

Lanor didn't take into any account that anyone would still be out. He had not been anticipating company. He was alone trying to work his head around the letter he had just received. It would seem his parents had figured out his plan. His plan to avoid going back to France. Brushing away an errant hair from his vision, Lanor smiled. They knew of his plan, yet could not stop him. He was, after all on an Island that would appear to be hidden. Lanor knew already, without guessing that his mother would let him be. His father wouldn't have a choice but too. Lanor was sure he would be left alone in that sense.
Lanor would never want to be alone in the other sense, like he was now. He could not help that fact, everyone at the academy usually stayed in their dorms at this time. The academy was safe, but everyone listened closely to their instincts. Telling them otherwise.
Stopping, Lanor heard footsteps, than felt an intense aura that drilled in to his mind only one word: death. It wasn't anything Lanor had ever felt before, it was like something was telling him to leave. To get as far as possibly from what ever was carrying such an aura. He didn't realize, until the subject of this aura bumped into him. Sending it to the floor.
Blinking in mild bafflement, Lanor's electric blue eyes pierce through the dark. Scanning the boy on the floor. Eyes widening, Lanor was sure his breath would have left him, if he were human. He was surprised that the boy was a living, breathing human. As he once again brushed aside that errant hair from his vision.
"Are you alright?" Lanor asked, his voice like a caress, gentle. Caring.
He was quick to snap out of whatever daze he had been in. Handing the boy his pale hand. "Here let me help you up." Lanor kindly offered, his french accent coating every word, like a thick cloud.

Danny's eyes were wide, searching the blankness that almost completely blocked his vision. He could barely make out the form of a boy standing ahead of him.
'Sorry' Danny murmered. His voice was subdued but his forest-green eyes were still frantic. 'I- I'm fine' He was stumbling over his words, embarassed but also taken aback by the purity of the voice that now enquired into his well-being. Barely, he saw a hand reaching out toward him as the boy's melodic voice enveloped him again. Grasping his hand, the chill caused by the boys voice was doubled by the coolness of his skin. He felt a tingling shiver travel down his spine.
Once Danny had clambered to his feet with the stranger's help, he stood awkwardly. 'I can't see' His voice was soft, melodic, enlaced with a hint of confusion

Lanor didn't immediately take his hand away. Liking the warmth and texture of the boy's hand. The boy was different, for he didn't snap his hand away, the second Lanor had touched him. Lanor was sure his hand must be cold, increased by the academy's cool interior. Then he let it drift from his, as he looked from the hand, to take a closer look at the boy's face.
He recognized the few similarities that the boy had, to that of a vampire's beauty. This human boy, looked as if he could be of the same species as him. He was stunning, yet he was just a human. Lanor wasn't sure if he was captivated by this, or his increased interest of the boys aura.
Looking at the boy's forest green eyes, Lanor leaned forward. Placing a hand lightly on the boys shoulder, just briefly. He had wanted to see if he really was a human. Then seeking, with his eyes, to find any type of light. But finding none. Lanor smiled, amused. The boy must of been new, for the others barely went anywhere without some type of light. Turing his eyes back to green ones, Lanor took a step forward.
"How did you manage to walk all the way here without a light? Never mind.. I shall take you to the dorms. If that is where you were heading?" Lanor asked, raising a eyebrow but knowing he couldn't see it anyway.

Danny gasped as the other boys hand found his shoulder, the quick drawing of suprised breath silent. His eyes searched for his face hidden in the darkness, still in the grasp of the curiosity that brought him here.
'I listen' his words were simple, he hoped the boy would understand. Danny began to nod, then stopped hesitantly, realising that if he couldn't see, the other boy probably couldn't either. 'Yes' His voice was hesitant. Softer than the darkness surrounding them, so obviously enthralled, captured by something about this boy. The sweetness of his voice? The hint of blue through the dark?

Lanor gave the boy a 'look'. One that told the boy he understood. Yet still, it wasn't normal to find a new student doing that. They usually would stay where they knew they'll be safe. Thought, they would be safe, but in time the island always got into the their minds, influencing, corrupting. Lanor didn't necessarily think all turned out this way, but most did. No one got off the island the same. If they did, than they were lucky.
Drifting slightly away from the boy, a step in the direction towards the dorms. Lanor's eyes looked back at the boy. A question on his mind, yet he didn't want to ask it.
"Alright, would you be able to see me from this distance?" Lanor was only a meter away. His eyes searching the boy's, his form appearing to glow from the light that seeped through a nearby window. Lanor could see hesitation, but then curiosity also. Smiling, Lanor wondered if the boy wouldn't mind his company.

Danny felt, more than heard the boy step away from him. The slightest sense of discomfort passed over him, almost like a loneliness. He mentally shook himself. Ridiculous.
'Barely' He said, squinting at him. He took two delicate steps forward, toward the boy and the odd comfort that he tried to deny existed.
With a pink stain of embarrassment on his cheeks, he reached semi-blindly toward him, shivering as his fingertips came into contact with his cold flesh. He trailed them down the boys arm and, finding his hand, slipped his own hand into it. 'Maybe this will help?' He said hesitantly, expecting the boy to push him away.

"That's fine, perfect. Now you won't stumble into anything." Lanor said, almost teasingly. A playful smile occupying his lips. He had noticed the rise in blood on the boy's cheeks. It was adorable. "This way." Lanor indicated, tugging the boy along with him as he headed towards the dorms. Liking the fact the boy seemed to appear, comfortable enough to touch him. Did the boy know he was a vampire? His skin was a big indicator, and it was no secret that the island held a great number of them.
"Does it bother you?" Lanor asked him. Seeking to know if the boy would know what he was talking about. Gently squeezing his warm hand, while still walking.

Danny's blush deepened at the boys teasing tone. He let himself be pulled through the darkness, comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time. Something lurked at the back of his mind, telling him that something was a little bit off, not quite normal, but the boys presence reassured him.
'Your skin?' Danny enquired softly 'It is cold....why?' He realised his question had been blunt, perhaps too much so, but the sudden increased pressure on his hand had made his heart quicken in a way he didn't understand.

Lanor found that he liked this boy blushing. It was too easy to make him blush. Lanor wondered why that was, but it passed and his question made Lanor nearly miss a step. He had thought the boy would know. Not expecting him not too. He just seemed like he would know, from the way he looked at first glance.
"It's cold, just as my skin is forever pale. This is because, I am a vampire." Lanor answered truthfully, his voice soft, as if he didn't want to scare the boy by these words. Though if the boy was afraid, Lanor would not blame him. It would only be of his nature. Strangely, Lanor felt that he would be saddened if he were.

A soft 'Oh' escaped Danny's lips. He had heard of Vampires during his training, but had never met one. It seemed so obvious now, and he felt stupid that he didn't recognise it straight away. 'Of course, I am sorry'
He was unsure why he was apologising. For being so slow-minded probably. He was trained to be on the ball, to be aware of everything around him. But this place, this situation, had him out of it. A sense of security that let him abandon his caution to a boy he had just met, and a Lamia at that!
But despite his awareness, this realisation of truth, he still held to the other boys hand firmly. Almost as if he had forgotten all that had led him here.

Lanor let out a charming laugh at the boys apology. Seeing no reason for him to be.
"You sound as if you should of known, just by a glance. It is not your fault, sucrée une" Lanor said melodically. Letting his eyes roam over the boy. He did seem like he would be good in a battle type situation. He sure had the body for it. Perhaps he had relations to hunters? Maybe that was what the apology was about. Anyway, the boy did not let his hand go, as if to show he was disgusted. He kept his hand in his and Lanor thought this was good. Indicating that the boy wasn't all that fazed.
Looking back to the path, Lanor was going up. They needed to go up a floor. And Lanor knew they were close to the stairs.
*Sucrée une = sweet one*

A bright and true smile crossed his features, his eyes sparkling delightfully for a moment. The boys laughter was pure, almost beautiful (if a laugh could be descrbed as such.) Just hearing that laugh made Danny want to look at this boy in the light, see who he was, what he was, and probably awe at him. As the thought crossed his mind, his smile dimmed, he didn't even know this boy, and yet...
and yet what?
Nothing. And nothing
He had to force the thought up, reminding himself who and where he was.
He blushed again, knowing that he was doing it much too often.
'Sucrée une?' Danny repeated awkwardly, confused. The language was obviously French, confirmed by the boys accent, but Danny had never learnt French. His eyes filled with confusion and curiosity, brimmed with it, as they stared widely at the other boy.

"Perhaps if you stick around you will find out." Lanor provided him with no answer, only an amused tone. Expecting some kind of confusion if he did. It just seemed to suit him, his blood was sweet scented. The way he blushed was a delight to see. Not that Lanor would ever take his blood. He had control, the boy was lucky for that too, he had such a nice aroma. Catching his attention.
Slowly, with the boy's hand in his, Lanor made it to the stairs. Looking up at them with mild thought. Before he started to walk up them. "Careful, stairs." Lanor indicated, "Or would you like me to carry you?" Lanor smiled playfully, seeking to find out something, without even asking. His blue eyes locked onto the boy's green ones. Knowing, because of the window close beside them, that the boy would be able to see him now. As the light was hovering over them, illuminating them.

Danny looked at the boy quizzically, but pressed it no further. He would find out eventually, after all he was planning to stick around. He didn't have to consider it. He knew that he would stay as close to this one as he could. And perhaps after so long he would find himself a friend? Perhaps.
He noticed all at once that there was a dull light that he could see by, and that he could see the other boy properly. Danny looked at him in open amazement. The shining blue eyes that looked at him were startling. This boy was beautiful. The thought seemed to strike him hard in the chest, leaving him momentarily breathless. Everything about him was just so perfect. For the first time in his life, Danny was truly stunned. Realising that he was gaping a little, Danny hurried to cover up his obvious surprise.
'Oh carry me, of course' Danny replied just as playfully, his eyes glittering.

Lanor grinned, the light highlighting his pale features more so. Making him appear as if he belonged in another time, when the gods roamed the earth. Placing his hands around the boy, Lanor picked him up, and held him in the bridal style. Electric eyes glowing with merriment. Wondering if the boy had been only joking as he started to move up the darkening stairs.
"I was being serious," Lanor expressed. Knowing now that he boy most certainly was gay, or at least bi-curious. Or perhaps just playful, like Lanor was himself. Even though Lanor felt like this boy was something special. Someone to be held delicately. And that was how Lanor held him, as if he could break into pieces by just his touch. Carefully moving with each step he took.

Danny gasped loudly in surprise as the boy picked him up. 'Hey!' he exclaimed, though only softly, not exactly disliking the situation he now found himself in. He found the chill of the boy's skin enveloping, though not entirely unpleasant. His touch was soft, gentle, it made his skin tingle, little goosebumps appearing on his flesh. He had to bite back a stupid smile, a laugh.
He was so unsure of himself, so confused. Why did his heart quicken when he saw the boys face? Why did he blush so often at the most inconsequential things? And why, overall, did he enjoy being carried in this strangers arms? The answer lurked somewhere at the back of his mind, but he either couldn't or wouldn't let himself acknowledge the truth.
Danny desperately had to pull his mind away from the dangerous path it was leading him down. He smiled up at the boy hopefully. 'Stealing me away without so much as knowing my name are you?' he laughed, seeking conversation as a distraction.

Lanor stopped to a halt. His expression going from playful to apologetic. How could he have been so rude. To think he would of left without knowing the strange boy's name. Without offering his, even. Placing the boy down in front of him, making sure the boy was still facing towards him. Lanor took his hand into his.
"My name is Lanor." He said, as eloquently as it was drilled into him to be. Slowly, Lanor brought the warm hand up to his lips. Gently kissing it. A greeting, that would tell the boy that he respected him. Keeping eye contact, Lanor smiled. " And who's company do I have the pleasure of being with?" Lanor asked, seeking the boys name. If anything, Lanor wasn't fussed about names. It kept an air of mystery, not knowing. It was almost better to let others name you, by how you present yourself. It was much better suited, or so Lanor thought.

Danny pouted childishly when the boy put him on the ground. He had been enjoying himself, even if it pained him to admit it. He looked at Lanor, with big, wondering eyes.
'Lanor' Danny repeated softly, after the boy spoke finding himself awestruck oncemore. The soft pressure of Lanor's lips on his hand brought the blood to his cheeks again. 'I'm... uh... Frank' he said uncertainly. He was relieved that he had remembered his 'name'.
In a few quick moments, Danny realised several things. Firstly, he liked this boy. More than just in a 'I want to be your friend' way too. He found him attractive. Secondly, he realised he was gay. Just like that. The realisation hit him like a brick to the head, and left him kind of dizzy feeling. He had never really liked girls, but he had never but any thought towards it. Now.... each thought added up, everything that he had been trying to repress.
And finally, he realised that he could never leave this Island. He would stay here as long as Lanor was here, even if it was just to watch him. Even if this boy was straight (which he doubted, though only hesitantly), he would stay here.

Lanor smiled at the Frank. The name seemed to suit him, though, if anybody asked Lanor would say he liked sucrée une better. Noticing the boys rise in blood pressure, Lanor swiftly held onto him, using his hands to make sure Frank wasn't about to faint. Lanor didn't want him to fall and hurt himself.
"Take it easy Frank, I wouldn't want you to get hurt." Lanor said, already lifting Franks form. In bridal style. All it took was one, gentle motion. Frank, after all didn't weight a thing to him. He was one delicate human. Studying his expression, Lanor softly brushed away a stray hair from Frank's face. While he used his other hand to hold him. Liking the way the boy reacted to him, even letting him carry him this way. Some would say it was to intimate. Laughing softly, Lanor continued on walking, it would not be far now.
